Lava-gravel shoulder at Piano Vetriolo on the quiet Belpasso road, a couple of kilometres below Sapienza. The smoking south cones sit in the windshield over a pine belt and a picnic fence. Sedan gravel, no services, cold at night. Day walkers use the Monte Nero trail. After they leave the meadow is a handful of vans under the volcano.
