Public surface lot on the Point of Buckquoy at the end of the Brough road, the last sedan pad before the tidal causeway. The Brough of Birsay, the white lighthouse and the flagged sandstone flats sit in the windshield from the seaward bays; at low tide the causeway is a walk, at high tide the island is a silhouette and puffins work the cliffs in season. Sedan gravel-and-tarmac, no toilets on the pad, a shop and loos in Birsay village a few minutes down the lane, no charger. Day coaches and causeway walkers fill the loop at low tide. After the last car the Atlantic and the light are yours from the sedan — wind is the whole weather here.
