Named DOC surface lot at the Mangatepopo road-end, the start of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Ngauruhoe and the tussock valley sit from the gravel stalls; toilets and the track shelter are on the same pad. Last kilometres unsealed off SH47, sedan-slow, no height barrier. Four-hour stay in the Great Walk season — packed with shuttle drop-offs at dawn. After the last van the volcano wall is a long sit from the stall.
