SH8 summit gravel apron at 971 m on Ōmakō / Lindis Pass. The tussock hills and the winding pass sit in the glass from the bays; a short gravel path to the lookout is on the same pad. Sedan highway, wind off the saddle, no height barrier, snow in winter. Day traffic on the Cromwell–Omarama run. After the last truck the pass is yours from the stall.
