Official NPS visitor lot on Tamiami Trail at Shark Valley — the car park for the tram, not the 15-mile trail itself. The river of grass sits in the windshield from the outer stalls; alligators work the canal at the booth and the first metres of pavement. Sedan asphalt, a packed bay, toilets and a visitor centre on the pad, no height bar; US-41 is the only road in. Trams and rental bikes fill the island until late afternoon. After the last tram the sawgrass is a long sit from the car — Tesla Supercharger in Florida City, 44 km, before you turn west on the Trail.
